Sand is an important commodity for the building and construction industries. High-quality sands are defined by their mineral content, grain size, and the absence of components such as organic material and clays. They are primarily used in the production of ready-mixed concrete.
We have one sand product available for the concrete industry, called offshore sand, a fine to medium sand with an ideal particle size dist for use in concrete. Offshore sand has ideal properties and size dist for use in concrete – with the petrology, particle shape and mineralogy lending itself well for use in high strength concrete applications. We undertake regular testing to demonstrate compliance to the NZ concrete standards.
